Housekeeping is active, detail-oriented work. You'll spend much of your shift standing, walking, bending, reaching, cleaning, making beds, moving supplies, and preparing rooms for arriving guests.
There are also deadlines. Rooms need to be thoroughly cleaned while still being ready for scheduled guest check-ins, so you'll need to balance quality with efficiency.
Guests may occasionally make special requests, priorities can change, and you may be asked to help another team member finish an area. You'll also need availability for some evenings, weekends, and holidays, since hospitality doesn't operate on a traditional Monday-through-Friday schedule.
Success in this role comes from being dependable, thorough, efficient, willing to help your team, and proud of leaving every room clean and ready for the next guest.
