Ambient Recruiting is partnering with a premier Northern Michigan four-season resort to hire a Public Space Attendant for a full-time, year-round 2nd shift position.
This role is responsible for keeping public areas throughout the property clean, welcoming, and guest-ready. From restrooms and locker rooms to floors, furniture, windows, and common spaces, you'll help create the polished experience guests expect throughout their stay.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Public Space Attendant, you'll:

• Clean and sanitize public areas throughout the resort
• Maintain restrooms, locker rooms, and common guest spaces
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and care for flooring throughout the property
• Clean and properly arrange public-area furniture
• Dust doorways, baseboards, décor, and other assigned areas
• Clean windows and walls as needed
• Perform scheduled high dusting and detailed cleaning
• Follow daily cleaning checklists to ensure areas are completed on time
• Restock and inventory disposable products and guest supplies
• Perform basic carpet care, including spot cleaning and stain or gum removal
• Report maintenance concerns, damage, or missing items discovered during daily rounds
• Safely handle cleaning equipment, chemicals, and biohazard-related materials
• Deliver amenities, packages, and other items to guest rooms as needed
• Assist with special projects and additional resort needs

What We're Looking For
Successful candidates typically have:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong organization and time-management skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent communication skills
• Comfortable communicating by radio throughout the shift
• Good judgment and ability to handle guest-facing situations professionally
• Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as part of the regular schedule
• Valid Michigan driver's license with an insurable driving record
• Ability to obtain or already possess a Michigan Chauffeur's Driver's License

Physical Requirements

This is an active position that requires:

• Standing and walking throughout the shift
• Frequent bending, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and occasional climbing or balancing
• Regular lifting and moving of up to 30 pounds
• Occasional lifting and moving of up to 50 pounds
• Working both indoors and outdoors
• Working in wet, humid, and changing weather conditions as needed
• Using cleaning equipment and supplies safely throughout the day

Real Talk

This is a physically active 2nd shift position where you'll spend much of your day walking the property, cleaning public spaces, restocking supplies, responding to resort needs, and helping keep guest areas looking their best.
You'll work independently for portions of the shift and should be comfortable prioritizing tasks without constant supervision. Evenings, weekends, and holidays are part of the regular schedule because resort operations continue when guests are enjoying the property.
