Ambient Recruiting is partnering with a Northern Michigan manufacturer specializing in precision fabrication for the aerospace and defense industries. We're seeking an experienced Industrial Painter to help apply high-performance coatings to mission-critical metal components used in demanding applications where quality and precision are essential.

What You'll Be Doing
In this position, you'll:
- Apply industrial coatings to fabricated metal components using professional spray equipment
- Operate HVLP spray systems and work with high-solids materials and specialty coatings
- Prepare surfaces to ensure proper paint adhesion and finish quality
- Inspect completed parts to verify coating thickness, appearance, and compliance with specifications
- Follow all safety procedures related to coatings, chemicals, and manufacturing operations
- Maintain clean, organized paint booths and production work areas
- Support additional fabrication and production operations as needed
- Assist in maintaining quality standards throughout the finishing process
- Follow detailed work instructions and production schedules
What We're Looking For
Successful candidates typically have:
- Two or more years of industrial painting experience preferred
- Experience with HVLP spray systems, industrial coatings, or similar finishing processes
- Strong attention to detail and pride in producing quality work
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and comprehensive background investigation to meet federal compliance requirements
